To Whom It May Concern
I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. I am writing to you on behalf of the Rotary Club of Almaty with an important update regarding the International Music Contest "Stars of Rotary", originally scheduled to be held in Almaty from June 25th to June 30th, 2024.
Due to unforeseen circumstances involving a state of emergency declared by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, following severe flooding in the western regions of our country, major public events have been ordered to cancel. This directive comes in light of economic considerations and the urgent need to focus national efforts on managing the crisis and supporting affected communities.
It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you that the in-person components of our music contest are directly impacted by this decision, as we must comply with this national directive.
However, we are also committed to ensuring that the hard work and preparation of our talented young musicians are not in vain. Therefore, we are pleased to announce that the International Music Contest "Stars of Rotary" will transition to a fully online format. This will allow us to continue showcasing the incredible talents of our participants while adhering to the current state of emergency. The second round and finals of the contest will proceed as planned in this new format, similar to our initial round.
We deeply regret any inconvenience and disappointment this change may cause, especially for those who were looking forward to experiencing this event in Almaty. We were eagerly anticipating welcoming you to our city and sharing this cultural celebration together. Please know that this decision was made with the best interests of all involved, in response to circumstances beyond our control.
Further details regarding the revised schedule and arrangements for the online contest will be communicated shortly. We thank you for your understanding, flexibility, and continued support during these challenging times. Our thoughts remain with those impacted by the floods across our nation.
Should you have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for your understanding and support!
